This bill by John Fitzpatrick (R-Anaconda) would split up the Department of Public Health and Human Services. This might not be a radically bad idea, but it seems like a rush job near the end of the session. It needs some study.

The efforts of these three legislators aren’t the only ones trying to weaken protections of Montana’s environment. But they do merit special condemnation.

This bill by Sen. Barry Usher (R-Billiwhack) would also exempt lawyers elected to any statewide office or serving as legislators. As lawyers, they would not be subject to disciplinary proceedings for violating rules of their profession.
