In the wake of recent mass shootings, Gary Marbut and the Montana Shooting Sports Association apparently believe that mass gatherings in America should include mass weaponry. When will this idiocy end?

Rep. Matt Regier (R-Kalispell) correctly anticipated that the governor would veto HB325, which prohibited any local government regulation of firearms, such as background checks. Regier had an ace up his sleeve, HB357, which put the same language in a referendum for November (Legislative Referendum 130). The issue is currently in court. Meanwhile, people keep getting shot.  Vote NO on LR-130.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) has doubled down in his support of President Trump’s tweets regarding the U.S. female Congresswomen of Color. What a pitiful excuse for even a pathetic politician!  We deserve better than this.

California carpetbagger Troy Downing has filed as a Republican for the office of State Auditor. During his failed bid for the U.S. Senate in 2018, Downing faced charges of illegally getting a resident hunting license (which he later pled guilty to). He also altered tax records to his advantage. (Yes, this is a “repurposed image.”  That’s conservation of energy.)

After Trump released his racist tweets telling The Squad to “go back where they came from,” Steve Daines defended POTUS SHMOTUS: “I stand with @realdonaldtrump.” Shameful.

The contest for the lone Montana seat in the U.S. House of Representatives now includes seven candidates.

Although only recently announcing his bid for governor, Greg Gianforte has stashed more campaign cash than any other candidate. Does being a Rich Republican have its advantages?

A legislative fiscal audit found that Secretary of State Corey Stapleton put a lot of miles on a fancy state pickup driving home to Billings on weekends.  Corey couldn’t be bothered to show up before the Legislative Audit Committee to defend his driving; his underling dismissed the issue as “tele-work.”

As Republican candidates line up and sign up, their enthusiasm for the POTUS SHMOTUS seems a bit forced.

Corey Stapleton rapidly switched his political ambition from the governor’s office to Montana’s single U.S. House seat.  We’ll see how much he follows in the footsteps of Greg Gianforte.
